1. WHAT INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT?
Personal Information Provided by You
In Short: We collect personal information that you provide to us.
We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide to us when you express an interest in obtaining information about us or our products and services, when you participate in activities on the Website, or when you contact us. The personal information that we collect depends on the context of your interactions with us and the Website, the choices you make, and the products and features you use.
If you choose to submit a customer support request through our site, for example, to request troubleshooting, we will collect your name and email address and may collect additional details. The optional details we require will be clearly displayed on the contact form itself and these may also include your computer OS version and hardware model where such information is required for technical support reasons relating to your request. We will not use data submitted through our request form for any purposes other than in connection with the form. For example, if you submit a form asking for technical support your email will be treated as a technical support request. We will never add you to any marketing lists unless you specifically ask us to do so.
If you choose to submit an OKIOSHARE form through our site, we will only collect the details on the form, for example, your full name, school name, email address, and other similar information for the purpose of delivering you a product/service or to enhance your customer experience with us.
If you choose to submit a Sales Inquiries form through our site, we will only collect the details on the form, for example, your full name, phone number, email address, school name, and other similar information for the purpose of delivering you a product/service or to enhance your customer experience with us.
Payment Data. We may collect data necessary to process your payment if you make purchases, such as your payment information (such as a credit card number), and other card information such as security code. Using OKIOCAM Applications and Chrome Extensions
Using OKIOCAM applications and Chrome Extensions does not require you to submit any personal information to us directly. We may provide you with the option to link your Google account when using our applications and Chrome Extensions in order to access certain functions such as uploading your content to your Google Drive.
If you choose to link your Google Account in this way, you may be invited to sign in to Google Drive in order to use your Google account to store anything you create, and this may require you to submit your Google login details through a Google login window. After being granted permission to use your Google Drive account, OKIOCAM applications will automatically create a folder in your Google Drive, in which it will store your images, video, and other created content, and it will be able to view and manage Google Drive files and folders that you have opened or created with our apps.
Your content is not stored on our servers and we have no access to or knowledge of any of your files. We do not collect any information from you; all information such as your Google sign-in details and uploaded content will be collected and handled by Google. Please consult Google’s detailed Privacy Policy for more information about how your files are stored in Google Drive.
Student Privacy
For the purpose of this policy, a student is defined as a natural person under the age of 18. We do not intend to collect or knowingly collect personal information from students. Using our OKIOCAM applications and Chrome Extensions does not require you to submit any personal information to us directly. If you become aware that a student has provided us with personal information without the student’s consent (or the parent or guardian’s consent for students under the age of 13), please contact us at support@okiolabs.com for assistance.
Information automatically collected
In Short: Some information, such as your Internet Protocol (IP) address and/or browser and device characteristics, is collected automatically when you visit our Website.
We automatically collect certain information when you visit, use or navigate the Website. This information does not reveal your specific identity (like your name or contact information) but may include device and usage information, such as your IP address, browser and device model, operating system, language preferences, and information about your browsing behavior including how and when you use our Website and other technical information. This information is primarily needed to maintain the security and operation of our Website, and for our internal analytics and reporting purposes.

This information includes mailing addresses, job titles, email addresses, phone numbers, Internet Protocol (IP) addresses, social media profiles, social media URLs and custom profiles, for purposes of targeted advertising and event promotion. If you interact with us on a social media platform using your social media account (e.g. Facebook or Twitter), we receive personal information about you such as your name, email address, and gender. Any personal information that we collect from your social media account depends on your social media account’s privacy settings.
2. HOW DO WE USE YOUR INFORMATION?
In Short: We process your information for purposes based on legitimate business interests, the fulfillment of our contract with you, compliance with our legal obligations, and/or your consent.
We use personal information collected via our Website, Services, and other marketing operations for a variety of business purposes described below. - To facilitate account creation and logon process, if the option is provided. If you choose to link your account with us to a third-party account (such as your Google account), we use the information you allowed us to collect from those third parties to facilitate account creation and logon process for the performance of the contract. - To post testimonials. We post testimonials on our Website and Social Media (such as Twitter and Facebook) that may contain personal information. We may use cookies and similar tracking technologies (like web beacons and pixels) to access or store information, analyze trends, administer the Website, gather demographic information about our user base, and to measure the effectiveness of advertisements and web searches. You can control the use of cookies at your individual browser level, but in some cases doing so may affect certain features or services of our Website.
We use Google Analytics to measure traffic on our website. Google has their own Privacy Policy which you can review here. If you would like to opt out of Google Analytics tracking through your Google account, visit the Google Analytics opt-out page. Opting out of tracking will not affect your ability to use this website.
We also collect additional traffic statistics through WordPress.com.
Data Used: IP address, WordPress.com user ID (if logged in), WordPress.com username (if logged in), user agent, visiting URL, referring URL, timestamp of event, browser language, country code. Important: The site owner does not have access to any of this information via this feature. For example, a site owner can see that a specific post has 100 views, but he/she cannot see which specific users/accounts viewed that post. Stats logs — containing visitor IP addresses and WordPress.com usernames (if available) — are retained by Automattic for 28 days and are used for the sole purpose of powering its feature.
6. HOW DO WE HANDLE YOUR SOCIAL LOGINS?
In Short: If you choose to register or log in to our services using a social media account, we may have access to certain information about you.
Our downloadable applications and Chrome Extensions may offer you the ability to login using your third-party account details (like your Google login). This service is totally optional. If you choose to do this, we will receive certain profile information about you from your social media provider. The profile information we receive may vary depending on the social media provider concerned, but will often include your name, email address, profile picture as well as other information you choose to make public on such social media platforms.
We will use the information we receive only for the purposes that are described in this privacy notice or that are otherwise made clear to you on the relevant Website. Please note that we do not control, and are not responsible for, other uses of your personal information by your third-party social media provider. We recommend that you review their privacy notice to understand how they collect, use and share your personal information, and how you can set your privacy preferences on their sites and apps.
7. IS YOUR INFORMATION TRANSFERRED INTERNATIONALLY?
In Short: We may transfer, store, and process your information in countries other than your own.
Our servers are located in the United States and Taiwan where we or our affiliates, subsidiaries, or service providers maintain facilities. If you are located outside of the United States, please be aware that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed by us in our facilities and by those third parties with whom we may share your personal information (see “WILL YOUR INFORMATION BE SHARED WITH ANYONE?” above), in the United States, Taiwan, and other countries. We take steps designed to ensure that the data we collect under this privacy notice is processed according to the provision of this privacy notice and applicable law wherever the data is located.
If you are a resident in the European Economic Area, then these countries may not necessarily have data protection laws or other similar laws as comprehensive as those in your country. European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses:
We transfer personal data from the European Economic Area and Switzerland to other countries, some of which have not been determined by the European Commission to have an adequate level of data protection. When we do so, we have implemented measures to protect your personal information, including by using the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses for transfers of personal information between our group companies and between us and our third-party providers. These clauses require all recipients to protect all personal information that they process originating from the EEA in accordance with European data protection laws and regulations. We have implemented similar appropriate safeguards with our third-party service providers and partners and further details can be provided upon request.
8. HOW LONG DO WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION?
In Short: We keep your information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this privacy notice unless otherwise required by law.
We will only keep your personal information for as long as it is necessary for the purposes set out in this privacy notice unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law (such as tax, accounting, or other legal requirements).
When you close your user account or when we have no ongoing legitimate business need to process your personal information, we will either delete or anonymize such information, or, if this is not possible (for example, because your personal information has been stored in backup archives), then we will securely store your personal information and isolate it from any further processing until deletion is possible.

11. CONTROLS FOR DO-NOT-TRACK FEATURES

12. DO CALIFORNIA RESIDENTS HAVE SPECIFIC PRIVACY RIGHTS?
In Short: Yes, if you are a resident of California, you are granted specific rights regarding access to your personal information.
If you are a California resident, the information below may apply to you. California Civil Code Section 1798.83, also known as the “Shine The Light” law, permits our users who are California residents to request and obtain from us, once a year and free of charge, information about categories of personal information (if any) we disclosed to third parties for direct marketing purposes and the names and addresses of all third parties with which we shared personal information in the immediately preceding calendar year (e.g., requests made in 2021 will receive information regarding 2020 sharing activities). We will provide the requested information to you at your email address in response. Please be aware that not all information sharing is covered by the “Shine The Light” requirements and only information on covered sharing will be included in our response.
We do not knowingly collect, use, or disclose personal information from children under the age of 13 without the consent of the child’s parent or guardian. If we learn that a child’s personal data was collected without the consent of the child’s parent or guardian, we will promptly delete that information. We may disclose your personal information with our service providers pursuant to a written contract between us and each service provider for legitimate business purposes and when it is necessary to fulfill our service contract with you. OKIO LABS, Inc. has disclosed the following categories of personal information to third parties for a business purpose in the preceding twelve (12) months:
- Category A. Identifiers, such as contact details, like your real name, alias, postal address, telephone or mobile contact number, unique personal identifier, online identifier, Internet Protocol address, email address and account name.

- Category C. Internet or other electronic network activity information, such as browsing history, search history, online behavior, interest data, and interactions with our and other websites, applications, systems and advertisements.

Right to Non-Discrimination for the Exercise of a Consumer’s Privacy Rights
We will not discriminate against you if you exercise your privacy rights.
Upon receiving your request, we will need to confirm you are a California resident and verify your identity to determine you are the same person about whom we have the information in our system. These verification efforts require us to ask you to provide information so that we can match it with information you have previously provided us. For instance, depending on the type of request you submit, we may ask you to provide certain information so that we can match the information you provide with the information we already have on file, or we may contact you through a communication method (e.g. phone or email) that you have previously provided to us. We may also use other verification methods as the circumstances dictate.
We will only use personal information provided in your request to verify your identity or authority to make the request. To the extent possible, we will avoid requesting additional information from you for the purposes of verification. If, however, we cannot verify your identity from the information already maintained by us, we may request that you provide additional information for the purposes of verifying your identity, and for security or fraud-prevention purposes. We will delete such additionally provided information as soon as we finish verifying you.

If you want to exercise more than one of your CCPA rights, please submit a separate request for each CCPA right, which will help us handle your requests more effectively. We will process your requests in the order we receive them. Please be aware there might be circumstances where we will not honor your request, as permitted under the CCPA. For example, if we are not able to verify your identity and that you are a California resident, we may not honor your access or deletion request. In addition, we may not delete your personal information if an exception under the CCPA applies.
